One of the greatest gifts from God  was my Cancer of the lymph nodes. Why? Because the Lord brought me to himself through that tragedy of which  I’m forever grateful!

What will give you and I the strongest hope is experiencing Him our severest suffering.

That’s the number one, the supreme lesson I’ve learned in my suffering roads.

When I can begin to understand HIS causing our circumstances and HIS complete control and  goodness in them, how he handles our worst tragedies for such heavenly good,  this is what gives us crystal clear vision of absolute truth, facts we must have to triumph through.

Seeing such hard reality, reality that God absolutely was behind  my  precious son Jonathan’s  disease and ultimate death, that this was HIS good and perfect purpose. This plan of HIS, a tremendously difficult one, this realization was a game changer for me. It has become my all consummating hope of which brings me the most comfort. 

God causing tragedy for HIS purpose is all through the scriptures. HE’S planned it therefore it’s good and full of  purpose. Those are words to abundant life.  

Genesis 50:20 what Joseph’s brothers meant for evil God meant for good. Such marvelous good, the Lord fed a starving world through Joseph’s God given appointment, those unbelievably difficult circumstances of brothers selling him into slavery, Potiphers wife lying about his raping her, Jail for years ect. 

Genesis 45:8 …it was not you ( brothers) who sent me here, but God. He made me father to pharaoh lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt.  

Genesis 50:20

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

I form the light and create darkness. I bring prosperity and create disaster, I the lord do all these things.
Isaiah 45:7

This supremacy of God is what fuels my fire into total confidence. Our loving Heavenly Father has an out of this world supremely extravagant plan in our tragedies.

I hope to give you and me a clearer vision, a shining light, a glimpse into the end of our darkest tunnels.

Our lenses The ones we view our circumstances from, often are completely  faulty. Those damaged lenses keep us from seeing our assured preplanned holiday at the sea ordained by our Heavenly Father.  We grope around for leftover scraps saved for old stray dogs, when a King’s fare of the richest delicacies is awaiting us. The succulent choices of the finest of foods for our souls. 

Look at how we eat the same old scraps when we could  refine our  palates to eat the choicest delicacies awaiting for us.

That was me faltering, failing being consumed with dread in my cancer diagnosis when all along my heavenly fathers hands were orchestrating a preplanned triumphant way.

WHAT I NEEDED WAS TO BATTLE READY MYSELF

To put HIS words of truth into my situation.

  1. Romans 8:28 he is working this out for all good and for HIS purpose.
  2. I Thessalonians 5:18

Giving thanks for these circumstances for it is his will for me.

  1. Proverbs 3:5-6

So I will trust in the Lord with ALL of my heart and not lean on my own understanding he’s going to make this path I’m in straight, he promises!

How? 

By, Hebrews 12:1-2 MSG 

I’m to strip down and start running and never quit! I am to put up with anything along the way, never loose sight of where I’m headed. Shoot adrenaline in my soul by reminding myself Jesus is in the center of my circumstances. 

So for all of us

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Run in away as to get the prize. Go into strict training. Don’t run aimlessly. Don’t fight like a boxer beating the air.

Whatever our struggle is today,

if it’s FEAR of failure in your job, afraid your husband will leave you, raising your kids, being a good wife, loving the Lord with all your heart soul mind and strength, being  a good friend to someone who just lost a loved one, cancer, maybe it’s realizing God should be your only audience. Mine was illness, cancer. Trust he will give you what’s needed. Maybe your attending your young sons funeral as my friend is today the list is endless, God will absolutely give you all that’s needed.

Let’s get disciplined and begin running in a way that gets right through to the center where Jesus is working. Then we will begin thriving. You may feel it’s different for you,  this is more difficult than what others are going through, I know I did. 

No, No, No scripture tells us we don’t have it harder, look at those hero’s of faith from the faith chapter of Hebrews 11 Moses, Abraham, Abel, Enoch, Noah, Sarah to name a few. 

Satan’s Mantra: indulge in a self pity party you deserve it. Self pity is his party!

Oh how easy it is to fall prey because I feel sorry me and so do you. Don’t! That’s Satan’s  ploy

Don’t give in…Put on the promises of Romans 8, Gods good plan, I Thessalonians 5 HIS will,  

and Proverbs 3  trust with your heart. Yes even when it’s a young son’s funeral.  Ask HIM to show you, to give you the necessary Holy Spirit power, and show you the good that’s coming. Be a good soldier obey your commanding officer, God himself!

 (2Timothy 2:4)

No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.

Let’s continue to shoot that adrenaline in our souls  by keeping Jesus in the center even when we can’t see any good coming from those plans such as my Cancer. So as 1 Corinthians says run to get the prize, strict training, not aimlessly or like a boxer hitting the air. How? Make a commitment to God, ask for his help, ( where does our help come from it comes from maker of heaven and earth psalm 121) get focused on what he’s telling you concerning your trouble. Be completely obedient. If HE has said I am with you make sure you have him next to you and are drawing from him. If he has said forgive, get about forgiveness no matter what. This is a war and you are a warrior. Don’t let parasites in your camp. Those blood sucking suckers of Fear, unbelief in Gods goodness, hopelessness, self pity, worry, control, anger, laziness, God doesn’t love you as much as others, THOSE BLOODSUCKERS!

Hold fast Philippians 2:16  to God’s Word of LIFE. Don’t have a false interpretation of reality which causes grumbling. Correct your lenses. Hold fast means EFFORT and ATTENTION. 

Look these words up search out what they mean so you can wholeheartedly apply them.

Take specific Word’s from God and with ruthless intensity hold on to them tighter than you would  hold onto your unbeliefs! Remember Gods goodness is not a vague thought! It’s 200 percent spot on!

What words should we hold fast to? Real abundant truth, God is good all the time, he is sovereign over your difficulties and the pleasure of obedience psalm 19:10-11

A dear friend when his young wife was passaging away from Breast cancer held her in his arms as she took her last breath he then walked over to the chalk board in the her hospice room and without a word wrote God is good all the time. 

That is true effort and attention

10 God’s Word is better than a diamond,
    better than a diamond set between emeralds.
You’ll like it better than strawberries in spring,
    better than red, ripe strawberries.

Open up! let HIM pour over you a spiritual feeding and get your marching orders from the only one who can truly HELP.

I have been given many treasures in my cancers one of my best is my son’s knowledge of how much God loves our family.
